Thank You!

On November 2nd, John F. Keenan was elected to the Massachusetts State Senate, representing the Norfolk and Plymouth district, which includes the City of Quincy, several precincts in Braintree, and all of Abington, Holbrook and Rockland.  The grassroots campaign that started back in February, along with John’s hard work and the hard work of a great group of volunteers, resulted in a convincing win over a republican candidate and an independent candidate.

John ran for the State Senate to bring change to Beacon Hill.  For too long, politics at the State House have been dominated by a “go along to get along” attitude that has resulted in the State spending too much in good economic times, and not preparing enough for tough times.  As a Quincy City Councilor, and Chairman of Council’s Finance Committee for seven years, John has demonstrated a unique ability to forecast tough economic times and has made tough decisions to keep Quincy’s finances as solid as possible.  The voters found that John was the one candidate for State Senate with the financial background necessary to bring stability to the State’s finances.

It’s a critical time in Massachusetts government, a time when we can truly change the direction of our State.  It’s time for responsible budgeting, time for economic growth, time for investment in new technologies and new jobs, and time to ensure our future with a renewed commitment to the education of our children.   John was the one candidate with broad-based private and public sector work experience, and a record of community involvement.  He is not a career politician, and he is not a product of Beacon Hill.  He is the change we need in state government, more concerned with performance and results than with politics.   As the Patriot Ledger noted, John is “smart, knowledgeable and a straight arrow.”

As John transitions from candidate to Senator elect to State Senator, we will update this website- we hope you’ll find it informative.  If you have any questions, please follow the links above.

Thank you for your interest, your support and your votes.  We voted to bring change to Beacon Hill, and we wish John well!
