Hi! I'm Massachusetts State Senator John F. Keenan. Welcome to my campaign website.
First, thank you to the residents of the Norfolk and Plymouth Senate district for your trust and support. It has been and always will be a great honor and privilege to represent the people of Abington, Braintree, Hanover, Holbrook, Quincy, and Rockland.
As we work our way toward the end of this legislative session, I do so proud of our many accomplishments. I say "our" because it truly has been a team effort. Local elected officials, a great staff, and most importantly, the residents of the district have all worked together to pass legislation that's made a difference for so many in the district and all across the Commonwealth.
Locally, we have quickly and effectively responded to constituent requests. We've worked hard to get funding for education and school building projects, for roads and bridges, for police and fire, for libraries, for seniors, for veterans' benefits, for housing that is affordable, and a whole host of other important community concerns.
Our efforts in combating the opiate epidemic, with landmark legislation and innovative approaches, are showing results and are being recognized across the country. Our first-in-the-nation tobacco legislation is helping kids avoid being the next generation addicted to tobacco and nicotine. "Revenge Porn" legislation had languished (48 states had passed some form of the legislation before Massachusetts) until we got involved. Not only did the law pass, but it also includes protections against other forms of abuse and includes cutting edge protections against the use of "deep fakes" generated by artificial intelligence. And, our work on housing and transportation is improving the quality of life for the residents of the district and the Commonwealth.
As has been noted, "our fingerprints have been on just about every major piece of legislation" passed over the last several years.
There is so much more to be done. Truly, I love the work, am honored to work on behalf of all the people of the Norfolk and Plymouth Senate district, and respectfully request your vote on November 5th. Thank you!
